Strolling along Salamanca Market
Street Food
Chiefeater Eddie Low and his travel buddy strolled along Salamanca Market on Saturday to savour the delights on offer
Roast Duck, Roast Pork, Non-Halal
After scouring for delivery options, I stumbled upon Master Chan Roaster Chicken operating out of the Maju Jaya Food Court. With a craving for some hearty roast meats, I eagerly placed an order.
The star of the show was undoubtedly the roast duck. Prepared in authentic Hong Kong style, it boasted a perfect balance of flavours and wasn't overly oily. Each bite revealed tender, succulent meat with just the right texture.
Equally impressive was the roast pork, featuring crackling skin that retained its crispiness even after the delivery journey. The savoury goodness of the pork paired beautifully with its aromatic spices, leaving me craving for more with every bite.
While the quality of the dishes was undeniable, it came with a slightly hefty price tag. The char siew and roast pork rice set together with gizzards was priced at RM22.90, while the roast duck rice set came in at RM33.40. Despite the cost which included the raised prices and delivery charges, the satisfying flavours and generous portions made it a worthwhile once in awhile indulgence.
Overall, Master Chan Roaster Chicken delivered on its promise of delectable roast meats, making it a worthy contender for those seeking a comforting and flavourful meal delivered right to their doorstep. I would rate it as my top HK style roast duck in Puchong (Mar 2024) currently.
You won't be able to find Master Chan Roaster Chicken on Google. Instead look for Medan Selera Maju Jaya and look for chicken rice stall there. Looking at the set up, it looks like a hot place so I am glad I ordered it via delivery. Plus I would not be able to pair the duck with a nice glass of red if I were to eat at the kopitiam.
