Thai
Ordered the Pad Kra Pow with minced meat and omelette (RM17.70) at Pad Boy Paramount, and it turned out to be one of the better Thai-style rice dishes in PJ. The meat was minced to just the right size — not overly fine — giving each spoonful a satisfying bite. The accompanying fried egg was golden and lacy at the edges, just the way a proper Thai omelette should be.

They offer a few levels of spiciness, but I went for the “Malaysian Spicy” or Nit Noy option — which, true to its name, hit a fiery yet enjoyable level of heat without crossing into painful territory.
Every element worked together beautifully: the minced meat was savoury and fragrant from basil and garlic, the peppers added crunch and sweetness, and the chilli provided a slow-building burn that lingered nicely. The omelette soaked up the sauce well, balancing the spice with its fluffy texture. It’s the kind of comfort food that hits the spot — straightforward, well-executed, and genuinely tasty.

Score: 8.8/10
Pad Boy SS2 scores Flavour (9.0) for its robust seasoning and balance.
Experience (8.6) for consistency and good service.
Value (8.7) for its generous portions.
A dependable Thai spot in PJ that doesn’t compromise on flavour or heat.
