Yam Rice, Non-Halal
Anybody like yam rice? there's a good yam rice stall the Perak Road Morning Market, inside the dry market building (towards the end). the stall. looks like being manned by husband and wife and young son. the wife very friendly
there are four different types of dishes for you to choose to go with the yam rice and each rice set comes with a bowl of soup too.
the four are:
braised tau kua (bean curd), braised egg, braised pork belly and braised pig’s skin. i like tau kua and egg so ordered them but disappointed to find out that the tau kau had finished.
instead seller told me there were only the egg and the skin…. so no choice lah, i took both, guess must go early if want the tau kua (and i suppose the pork belly too). i was surprised to see quite a lot of stuff inside the soup. some fishballs, meatballs, fishcakes, blood cubes… and i think the pig’s skin were inside the soup. soup taste overall was quite okay only but i like the yam rice. it looks very dark and kind of like very ‘yammny’ (or yummy – a pun! ‘yammny’ means lots of yam in it). oh and one very small piece of yam on the rice too.
very good yam rice.
comes with egg and pig's skin, plus the soup. RM7.00
this sauce and a pack of chlly also comes with it. what is that sauce for ehh...?? a bit thick type. i use only a little to spread on the rice
the soup

Business Hours
I did not ask but must be early in the morning, maybe 6:00 am or 7:00 am, and open until items are sold out. i went late – near 9.30 am, still opened but as mentioned left only those two choices.
