Restaurant 3T Pudu is a place we would have never visited if we did not happen to be in the Imbi & Pudu area.
What caught our attention was that they mentioned they had fish skin wantan. Finding a place to park on a weekend wasn’t hard at all unlike the madness that is Pudu on weekdays.
Upon arriving at Restaurant 3T Pudu, we found they offer a variety of dishes and we forgot about the fish skin wantan. I felt like having noodles, so I ordered a plate of wantan mee (RM7.50 )with fried wantan. What arrived was a well plated dish. Eventhough the wantan mee was well seasoned, I did not enjoy the soft texture. It was not firm nor springy. The fried wantan I liked even less because they filled the wantan with fish paste. But the soup that came with wantan mee was the saving grace. The soup made from anchovies had a delightful sweetness to it.
My wife caught sight of a fish paste and fish maw noodle soup and had that instead. (RM13) This turn out to be the winning dish. The fish paste which Restaurant 3T Pudu makes in house had a grainy texture and had a firm and springy texture. The fish maw was marinated in yellow wine thus removing the fishy smell from it. While they use the same anchovy soup for this dish, the yellow wine gives the soup an extra sweet edge making this a very enjoyable dish.
Get off at the Pudu LRT station.
