Sao Nam Fried Rice
Post by Chiefeater Jolene Sim
Birthday Weekend Michelin Food Adventure with Mummy Continues at Sao Nam.
We tried their signature mangosteen prawn salad, which was nice but a tad too sweet—might skip this next time. We also had pho, Vietnamese pancake, and fried short grain rice.
I would recommend the fried short grain rice. The texture is quite unique, with crispy puffed rice explosions in every bite. Not oily at all. I’d rank it higher than the pho.
The pho soup and noodles were good, though the beef quality was a bit subpar—but reasonable for the price.
The Vietnamese pancake isn’t your typical pancake. It’s huge, perfect for sharing, very crispy, and packed with fillings.
Overall, I would come back to Sao Nam to try other dishes.
