Japanese
In the heart of Ginza, "authentic Japan" quietly breathes. Shikisyunsai-Kan is a place only accessible bcos we had a local with us. Famous for its odeng (a winter treat), this place also offers seasonal dishes and an expansive sake list. Last night was a memorable experience at this hidden gem. The server showed us what’s on the menu - only the freshest seasonal ingredients - then picked and decided how each item would be cooked.

No words to describe how good it tasted; just imagine a near pristine kaiseki dining experience. Totally stupendous and value for money! Prices are only about 50-60% of Singapore for such experiences. What a treat; and massive thanks to our friend Makoto for showing us more (and more) of Japan.
We had shochu throughout the evening; brown sugar to mugi (barley), to kome (rice) and imo (potato) variants. Perfection.
Shoutout to the starter plate - the sweet potato cheese balls was immaculate. The white and green asparagus was done perfectly. Everything was easily 7.5/10 and these two would be 8s.

The stewed pork (similar to dongpo rou) was 7.75/10.
The grilled brinjal was also 7.5/10
