Keong Saik Road’s Gaston Gaston Singapore exudes the essence of Burgundy under the careful guidance of Burgundy native Geoffrey Daurelle. As someone familiar with the gastronomic wonders of Burgundy, I couldn’t help but hold Gaston to high expectations, given its roots in such a culinary haven. With eager anticipation, we delved into the heart of the menu, eager to experience the pièces de résistance.
Our culinary journey began with the Escargots de Bourgogne, a quintessential Burgundian delight served with generous lashings of garlic and parsley butter. What caught our attention was the innovative twist of presenting the escargots in a crunchy pastry shell, offering a delightful contrast in textures while retaining the rich flavours.

For our main courses, I opted for the Pôchouse Bourguignonne, a traditional fish stew featuring sea bream, scallops, and prawns, accompanied by rouille sauce and garlic croutons. Originating as a humble “shore lunch” for river travellers, this dish captivated with its depth of flavours and hearty appeal, perfectly complementing Burgundy’s culinary heritage.

Meanwhile, my wife savoured the Poulet Gaston Gérard, a seemingly simple chicken fricassée elevated to extraordinary heights with a creamy mustard sauce and a generous topping of aromatic gruyere cheese. The chicken, cooked to perfection, remained succulent and flavourful, while the gruyere added a delightful touch of indulgence to each bite.

Of course, no Burgundian feast would be complete without an exceptional wine selection, and Gaston certainly did not disappoint in this regard. With an impressive array of wines to choose from, including their own online shop for connoisseurs to explore, Gaston effortlessly captured the relaxed French Burgundy vibes we were craving.
Our dining experience, accompanied by a delightful Chablis, Poulet Gaston, Escargots, and Pochouse, left us thoroughly satisfied and eager to return. With a total bill of $235 for two, Gaston Singapore emerges as a standout destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Burgundy in the heart of Singapore. Highly recommended.
