Grilled turban shell at Sushi Nakamura. Worth a mention bcos Chef Kazu handled it in 2 ways. The grilled shellfish meat was succulent, pure excellence.

Then he used the sauce/juices to make congee (yes the shell was like a claypot), resulting in a a super umami finish. One of the best congees I’ve ever tasted; comparable to the congee made from distilled Taiwanese hotpot broth I had 2 decades ago in Taipei. This is right up there. 8/10

The seafood noodles is excellent too. This is like fish head noodles hybrid with fish soup, Japanese style. A steady favourite with the local Japanese lunch crowd (everyone is slurping down the same bowls of broth) – this is another gem.
