Karaage, Udon, Pork-Free
Lunch at Team Udon in TTDI turned out to be a pleasant surprise.

The Curry Udon (RM15.80) I had was mild but comforting — the thick curry clung nicely to the chewy noodles. Jen’s Niku Udon (RM18.80) was equally decent, though we both agreed it could use a touch more richness in the broth.

The onsen egg was lovely and added to the creaminess of my curry udon

The gyoza was good

But the real standout was the Ayam Rempah Karaage (RM12.80 à la carte). Juicy, tender, and fragrant with curry leaves and spice — this was one of the best local-inspired karaage versions we’ve had. It wasn’t dry at all, and the seasoning balance made it addictive enough to eat on its own.

Although located upstairs, the shop was buzzing during lunch, showing that good food always finds its crowd. The fusion of Japanese technique and Malaysian flavours gives Team Udon its charm — and the ayam rempah karaage alone makes it worth coming back for.
