Chiefeater Pat Lim shares a dinner visit to Din Tai Fung Gardens, with rice wine chicken that brought back childhood memories

Thai, Pork-Free
Had a meal at Thai Co Restauran in LINC KL and was pleasantly surprised by their take on a Chicken Pad Kra Pow, proving that they are not just a pretty looking restaurant but also serves a delicious meal.

This modern rendition kept the essence of the dish while adding a visually striking touch with a tornado egg on top of the rice.

The chicken was beautifully seasoned, with the basil lending its trademark fragrance and the chopped chillies bringing a lively heat that lingered just enough. There was good wok action in the mix too, giving the dish that necessary savoury depth. The star of the plate though was undeniably the tornado egg—fluffy, glossy, and cooked just right, it wrapped the rice underneath in layers of comforting richness.
Thai Co Restaurant is worth a stop if you’re in the area.
