Japanese, Yakitori, Udon, Sake, Non-Halal
It had been awhile since I had last stopped by Lot 10. It’s a place I usually do not have reason to go into when I am in Bukit Bintang. But on a recent occasion in that area, I decided to visit Lot 10 and I am glad I did. Lot 10 had undergone quite a change since the last time I was there. The 4th Floor was quite vibrant with many Japanese themed food choices and I decided to have lunch there. Tokyo Restaurant remains the main draw at Isetan’s The Table but Jen wanted to have Udon and that’s how we came to have a meal at Touan KL.
While she had an Aosa Nori Udon (RM29++), I decided to indulge my penchant for yakitori. I ordered their 5 type Assorted Yakitori that was priced at just RM28++.
As my yakitori platter arrived, I could not help but notice how the chicken wings had been skillfully splayed and presented. The 5 pieces consisted of mushroom, gizzard, chicken wing, salted chicken and teriyaki chicken. Upon sinking my teeth into the skewers, I was pleased to discover that it lived up to expectations. The meat, tender and flavourful, was perfectly seasoned and well-grilled. Each bite had smoky flavours while retaining juicy textures.

Accompanied by a side of sake (RM33++), the yakitori provided a harmonious balance of flavours. The subtle sweetness of the rice wine complementing the savoury richness of the grilled skewers.

Meanwhile, Jen’s clam udon noodles proved to be a comforting and satisfying choice. The steaming bowl of noodles, swimming in a flavourful broth, offered a comforting warmth that enveloped the senses. The broth was a multi-layered sensation on the palate. However, she said the clams were a bit mushy compared to the springiness of the udon.

Despite the hustle and bustle of Lot 10’s vibrant atmosphere, our lunch at Touan KL provided a tranquil oasis of culinary delight. The attentive service and inviting ambiance further enhanced our dining experience, ensuring that our meal was both enjoyable and memorable.
