Had a very memorable private dining experience with my foodie friends at the Twelve Flavours which is also the home of celebrity chef Derek Cheong, winner of the 2021 Master Chef Singapore contest.


The food was truly amazing.






The bbq aged duck as the star dish for our dinner. It came with a very aromatic and flavourful claypot Wuchang rice with chestnuts and dang gui soup. The duck was sliced thinly yet managed to maintain the integrity of the skin without falling apart. Lots of Peranakan and Korean food influences all wonderfully combined.

I even had my 1st experience of eating Jerusalem artichoke as a dessert, quite an interesting mix I must say.



I also enjoyed listening to Derek’s story on how he dropped out of NTU to persue his passion for cooking. In a risk adverse country like Singapore, this is truly commendable!
Twelve Flavours is definitely a worth paying a visit, especially if you’re a foodie. 2 thumbs up!
