Yut Sun Restaurant, a famous Hainanese restaurant in Taiping, was opened in the 1926, making it 97 years old now! It is definitely one of the oldest establishments in this historic mining town. It is now managed by the 4th generation of the Chin family.
This no-frills and rather spartan-looking restaurant offers various Hainanese-Western fusion dishes. Dining in such old-fashioned eatery always brings on a nostalgic feeling.
Its signature dish is the Hainanese chicken chop, a dish that originated in our country. Like many other people, yours truly made a detour just to taste the chicken chop here.
The simple menu and prices. The stickers indicate that there has been a recent price increase.
Noodle dishes, toast and half-boiled eggs are also available.
The full menu and prices displayed on the wall of the restaurant.
There is another restaurant a little farther down the same road named Yat Sun, which is operated by another family member.
