Nyonya, Teatime, Pork-Free
I’ve been a fan of Rasadulu Cafe’s cendol and various rice dishes since they first opened. Now, on a rainy weekend afternoon, I’m headed there to try out their teatime offerings.

First up: the cendol, because I still think it’s the best cendol you can get in Puchong and arguably in PJ too. It’s creamy with lots of coconut milk and just the right amount of gula melaka for a hint of sweetness without going overboard.

The curry puffs look to be a new menu item. They’re fried to order, arriving golden and piping hot at our table. I had to wrap one in a napkin to keep my fingers from being scalded. Inside, there’s egg, potato and veggies, ensconced in a lightly spicy seasoning.

The meehoon Siam or fried rice noodles is more of a light breakfast dish. The noodles have a tinge of spicyness to them; add the included sambal to kick the heat a few notches. It’s a little sweet and plenty hot, enough to get your nose running.

The rojak buah or fruit rojak is another very spicy dish. I love how the crunch from cucumbers, sengkuang and green mango combine with the very spicy and slightly sweet sauce. Again, it’s another dish to leave your nose running, but you’ll be grinning at the same time.
Rasadulu Cafe is having a weekday teatime promotion for a set of a light dish such as mee Siam or cucur udang with a drink.
