Drop in to Bunn Choon Restaurant at Jln Balai Polis KL.
We ordered their Kakka Braised Pork set which comes with stirred fried sweet pea bean and fried egg. We especially like their braised pork which is well salted and very authentic in flavour. The sauce goes very well with plain steam rice.
Vege are also very well done can be eaten as it is. At RM12.90 per set we find that it is very cheap considering the big portions of braised pork which filled the bowl it served in. We were happy to order one set with add on steam rice to share between two person.
We especially like their fried taro dim sum which is best eaten warm. Thick yam pastry with just nice char siew filling, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside, we normally go for second order every we came.
We like their nostalgic vibes which can not be easily duplicated, much as their own signature feel with period piece decorations. Positively recommended for a authentic old time dim sum session in the city.
Editor's Note
Bunn Choon Restaurant was established in 1893 and was operating out of the Imbi Wet Market until it was demolished. The location at Jalan Balai Polis is their new premises but the fourth generation of the family now helms the business
