Back at The Red Kettle Gardens for a quick bite after a nearby meeting, I decided to go for their old classic pork chop (RM31.90++). What arrived was a plate with three thin slices of pork, each perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The pork was cooked to perfection, maintaining its juiciness and tenderness, while the tomato sauce added a tangy richness that complemented the meat beautifully. Accompanied by peas and golden potato wedges, the dish was hearty and comforting.

The original style of Hainanese pork chop is a dish steeped in local history, brought over by Hainanese immigrants who adapted Western culinary techniques to local ingredients. Traditionally, the pork chop would be coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried until golden and crispy.
