Hono Omakase is Theatrical
Japanese, Omakase
Chiefeater Luke Soon considers Hono Omakase one of the most theatrical omakase experiences in Singapore

Western, Pork-Free
Celebrated wife’s birthday at BarKar KL Restaurant. She wanted to try something different so we ended up right smack in the heart of town . Talk about navigating through traffic just before the Christmas rush.

Food there was good and interesting, reminded me of Atelier Binchotan but still, no where close to Burnt Ends at the moment. I felt like the smokiness wasn’t as infused in the dishes like the leeks. Meat-wise, just get the Picanha. I am curious to try their other meats the next time I return. Saw a couple of fish, duck and chicken being aged in the day freezer.

Ended the night at BarKar KL with their Ma Lai gou which they made it into a birthday cake! The Ma lai gou with the burnt butter was just fantastic! Not overly sweet but there is a nice mellow sweetness that goes so well.
