Thai, Non-Halal
Un-Yang-Kor-Dai, or “Anything goes”, brings you cuisine from the Northeast Issan region of Thailand. The style is spicier than the usual Thai food that we can find, and slightly different in terms of ingredients. The eatery has outlets in Thailand, with the first Un-Yang-Kor-Dai restaurant was founded by a former lawyer, Panchana Vatanasathien and located at Khao Yai National Park.
The South Bridge Road location here in Singapore is featured in the Michelin Guide, newly listed with a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The Issan-style cuisine is hard to find outside of Thailand, especially in Singapore. As one of the few eateries offering such a style, Un-Yang-Kor-Dai is a comparatively authentic and affordable place that you should take the chance to experience.
Leng Zaab (SGD28) is massive even for a small serving, and holds notes of the showy rice wine burnt right in front of us. It’s lit, literally. It’s an interesting switch from the familiar Tom Yam Soup, but did not hold much sway for us. This came in at 7.25/10.

I have tried many tom yam koong and Un-Yang-Kor-Dai’s rendition of this beloved soup was above average – about the same level as Nummun at 7/10
