In Danau Desa, there’s a 50-year-old Kopitiam called 10 Kopitiam Taman Danau Desa. For the first time, I had a special feeling about this Nanyang-style Kopitiam! I didn’t expect that the food here would pleasantly surprise me; it’s incredibly appetizing and delicious. It’s not just a simple Nyonya curry noodles; the savory curry broth is exceptionally unique and not ordinary at all! When the signature Hainanese chicken chop was placed on the table, it didn’t look like what I had in mind, but the moment I took a bite of the chicken, I knew I had fallen in love with it. The pineapple bun with chilled butter is simply a perfect match! The coffee here, known as the “十号咖啡” (Number Ten Coffee), once held the Malaysian record for selling 15,000 cups a day. It has a strong and concentrated flavor, exactly the way I like it.

十号茶樓 10 Kopitiam originated in 1973 as a small stall in a small town in Malacca. The founder hails from Hong Kong and is dedicated to blending the old Hong Kong style with Malacca Nyonya flavors. They brought Hong Kong delicacies like pineapple buns, egg tarts, Swiss rolls, and milk tea to Malaysia. After more than 20 years of continuous effort and improvement, it has become a beloved neighborhood spot today.”
