Indulging in a delightful lunch at Horizon Grill Banyan Tree KL was a treat to remember. For starters, when we arrived at 1:45 pm for lunch, we had the whole restaurant all to ourselves. It was as if I had booked out the whole restaurant.
Amanda, the hostess who attended to us, suggested we should try their beef as that is what they are famed for. Jen decided to savour the flavours of their Angus Burger, while I ordered a 200gm Argentinian Devesa Steak. While waiting for our dishes, they served us with some bread for starters.

The burger (RM118 nett) is only available at lunch. The chef’s recommended that the burger patty should be done medium well. Jen prefers her beef more rare but she decided to take chef’s recommendation. The burger patty was well seasoned, complemented by the perfect combination of gherkins, cheese, tomato, lettuce, and caramelized onions. The addition of the egg seemed unnecessary and it made the burger messy to eat. The bun held its shape beautifully, adding to the overall enjoyment of this scrumptious creation.

The Argentinian Devesa Steak (RM306 nett) was a delight. Cooked to a perfect medium rare, the tender and succulent meat brought sheer delight with every bite. Served with a side of sautéed mushrooms and a rich beef jus sauce, the dish was a harmonious symphony of flavours. Sometimes, simplicity is key, and in the case of this steak, it proved to be true – a good piece of meat is all you need to elevate a meal. To complement the meal, I chose an Argentinian Malbec (RM70 nett), which complemented the flavours of the steak.

The Beef Jus was so thick and flavourful that you can taste the beef in it

As an Accor Plus member, I received 50% off on the food, making the dining experience even more delightful. The final bill of RM212 for the food and RM86.70 (15% off for Accor members) for the drinks was indeed a great value for the exceptional quality of food and service.
While lunch at Horizon Grill was a truly enjoyable experience, I couldn’t help but think that the best time to visit would be in the evening. With a breathtaking view of the city skyline during sunset, the ambiance would undoubtedly elevate the entire dining experience. It’s a definitely a place for a date night.
