Korean, Non-Halal
After the underwhelming dinner at Sakagura, we needed to salvage the evening with something more satisfying. That led us to Jangga Korean Restaurant, an unassuming spot not far away, and one that turned out to be a pleasant surprise.
The restaurant had a relaxed, comfortable vibe, with large windows that opened up to a view of the waterfront. We may have missed the sunset but we were there for the food. It was quiet, with just a few tables occupied, which made the service prompt and friendly.

Jen ordered the udon, which was light and warming—nothing particularly outstanding, but comforting in the way a bowl of hot noodles often is.

The true highlight, however, was the grilled pork belly. At RM28, it came in a good-sized portion with the right balance of lean and fat, nicely seared and still juicy. The marinade was subtle but effective, and it paired beautifully with the dipping sauce on the side.
There was no fuss about the presentation, no over-the-top plating—just good, honest food that hit the right notes. What stood out most was how the pork belly managed to feel indulgent yet not too heavy. It completely redeemed the night for us, and we left Jangga Korean Restaurant feeling far more content than when we arrived.

If you’re ever around during the evening, time your visit for sunset. The changing sky adds a surprising charm to what might otherwise be a simple dinner. Definitely a place worth going.
