I had a family dinner at Luretta DOP 1 Utama. The first time since they relocate from the Isetan dining area. Their new location is now at the valet entrance of the new wing or what used to known as the Michael Kors entrance.
Our party of 4 ordered an Insalata Mozzarella Di Bufala (RM39++) to start our night. We made short order of it. This was followed by the Porchetta (RM45++). While the pork meat was flavourful, I still prefer the thin crispy skin of Chinese styled roast pork. To each their own. We also had the Vongole Alla Marinara (RM36++), clams cooked in a tomato based broth. This was alright too.

Of course, I ordered my favourite Lasagna (RM28++). For me no meal at Luretta DOP 1 Utama is complete without this. They make the best lasagna in town. Minced meat generously inserted between the layers of pasta, with a texture that just has enough bite to give it a nice resistance to each bite. Usually this is the star dish of my meals there.
However, I was surprised that the Gnocchi Carbonara with bacon bits (RM41++) was the one that was the star of the night. The carbonara here is thick and heavy with flavour. In fact the flavours are so strong that they actually overpowered the lasagna. So if you ever this, don’t order the lasagna. The gnocchi was wonderfully made. It had nice chewy texture that had the right balance of chewiness but still maintain a light consistency to it. This mixed with the carbonara sauce was the winner for all of us.
We capped off the night with a Creamy Whisky Tiramisu (RM30++), which we all enjoyed as well. The whisky was evident in the tiramisu but not so much that it overpowered the dessert. Balance was certainly employed here.

I had a Luretta Boccadirosa 2020 that complemented the gnocchi. It’s gold colour and fruity taste complemented well with the colour and the flavours of the carbonara.
