Thai, Non-Halal
thai food at mama thai best. it looks like at the mama thai best restaurant, their list of menu has increased. the last time i was there in feb. 2023, not so many dishes to choose from. four days ago i went with a friend and found out so many food and drinks to choose from (that’s why i am showing the full menu.

the last time i went… actully 3 times and 1 time takeaway. somebody commented that pork leg’s rice is nice but since i don’t like pork leg i didn’t order it but recommend my friend to try it… he did. pork leg’s rice set RM12.90 – my friend’s order. come with the sauce as shown bottom

then for me, it was a toss between the tamarind prawns rice set and the shrimp tomyam rice set and finally settled on the latter. shrimp with other long beans or petai – i took petai.
‘phat phet’ – thai spicy rice set with shrimp and petai (RM13.90). the soup is different from tomyam soup but quite nice. i thought i read in the menu, there are long beans too but er… think i didn’t see the long beans. at first taste, i found the soup a bit sweet…. i don’t really like food (eaten with rice) that are sweet but the more i eat, not so sweet. it was quite spicy too. overall quite good

we order the papaya salad and fish cakes to be shared.
left: papaya salad. we want to order mango salad but not available so order this. not bad the taste but i don’t really like salad
right: fish cake. yummy! i like fish cake and usually at thai resaurant will look for fish cake. some restauarnt the fish cake not so nice. this one is very good.

left: my drink – thai coffee. first time trying thait coffee. it was good. comparable to latte
right: my friend order the lemongrass drink, with lemon and plum too.

the restaurant is small and cosy and usually not too many customers. i like i that way. it has a mini mart selling lots of stuff from thailand of course. i bought the thai sterilised milk (to mix with coffee but was told can drink the milk like that) and i was glad to find that they have paste/spices in small packs… just enough for one.
