Tai Chow, Street Food, Non-Halal
Recently visited Nam Chuan Hainan Kopitiam per a friend’s recommendation for dinner. The kopitiam is located along a small road off the main Jalan Bahagia road in PJ. The kopitiam consist of various food stalls like any kopitiam, but for this review; it’s specific to the Six Star Seafood Restaurant (stall).
There were 3 of us and the bill ran up to about RM89 in total for 4 dishes, not inclusive of drinks. The portions are huge considering that we ordered a small portion for each of them.
4 King Belacan – Consists of 4 types of vege, stir-fried with belacan, awesome combination of freshness and flavour.
San Bao Chicken – Well marinated and seasoned. Goes well with rice, especially with the sauce.
Assam Fish Slices – Changed the default Assam Fish Head to fish slices, the fish wasn’t over cooked. If you like thick assam fish curry, this may not be for you. Excellent flavour nonetheless.
One last item we ordered was the Two Types Kailan (or Ying Yang Kai Lan for other places), which I forgot to take a picture of. I felt that the oil/wok wasn’t hot enough when the vege went into the wok for a quick deep-fry. It was after all the first dish that arrived. Not the best from what I have had in recent times.
Overall, it was a good and quick meal and definitely shouts value for money.
Kopitiam Business Hours
Opens Daily
06:30 am to 10:00 pm
But Six Star Seafood probably only opens in the evening for dinner
