Pizza
RATA Restaurant is known for its sourdough-based, neo-Neapolitan style pizzas that feature some very interesting and locally-inspired topping options. The crust is notably thin and crispy, providing a light base that doesn’t feel overly heavy.

I recently had the chance to their pizzas at a relative’s place. They had gone over to their SS15 Subang Jaya outlet to pick up a couple of 14” pizzas and bring them back for lunch.

During this session, we sampled two distinct seasonal flavours. I liked the Beef Pepperoni & Pulled Beef flavour more than the seasonal salmon one. The pepperoni pizza offered a nice savoury depth, while the salmon was too far outside my acceptable tolerance of toppings I would like to have on a pizza.
Salmon Pizza

Beef Pepperoni Pizza

Beef Pepperoni & Pulled Beef Pizza: RM52.90
Score: 7.0/10
M – Meal Value
For the quality of the artisanal sourdough crust and the generous 14-inch sizing, Rata offers a good value. It is priced competitively with other premium pizza parlours in the Klang Valley though I would have liked the texture of the dough to be chewier. This one leans to being less chewy.
Score: 7.0/10
V – Venue & Vibes
While I had this as a takeaway, their SS15 outlet is known for its “vibe dealer” aesthetic—a modern, casual space that works well for both quick lunches and relaxed evening hangouts. The brand successfully blends a cool, youthful energy with high-quality baking.
Score: unrated
X – X-Factor
The X-factor is the creative fusion of local flavors with artisanal sourdough.
Score: 7.0/10
