It has been years since my last visit to One Borneo Hypermall (I think my last visit was in 2009), and the transformation has been striking. Once a destination for high-end brands, the mall has now shifted towards more accessible retail and dining options. Among the newer food outlets, I stumbled upon Royal Fried Chicken One Borneo, a clear KFC-inspired eatery.
Curious about how it measured up, I ordered a single fried chicken priced at RM8. Service was fast, and the chicken arrived steaming hot, a definite plus for fast food.
How Did It Taste?
The chicken skin was decently crispy on the outside, and the meat itself was cooked well—not overly dry or greasy. The spicy seasoning was uneven, with some bites packing a nice kick while others tasted more plain. This inconsistency kept it from being truly satisfying, but overall, it was still acceptable for the price.
