Chiefeater Jotaro Zen had some fried snacks as a late night meal at One Six Eight Eight Kafe in Farlim Air Itam

I have been actively taking the train again that my fear of being close to strangers has abated. The Klang Valley has a good network that takes people from the suburbs to the city and other parts too. There are imperfections sure, but hey it’s relatively effective, clean and cheap. That’s how we ended up Yarl Heritage Row, which offers Sri Lankan cuisine.

After alighting at the Medan Tuanku Monorail Station, I was looking for a place to have a cup of coffee. The usual suspect would have been Grind or Tapestry but I decided to look for something else. Chancing upon Yarl, it offered a quiet place to have a cup of tea or coffee. And that's where we chanced upon the menu which offered Thosai. That was the hook.
Yarl is part of the Cinnamon Group, which operates some of the better restaurants in KL. You would expect the prices to command a heavy premium. But that's where I was surprised. A Hot Pasumpaal Tea is RM4.60++. The Onion Thosai is RM6.80++.
Let's start with the Thosai. It was light and crispy and tore easily without requiring to exert force. Some thosai require work to tear them apart. This was not one of them. The onions added to the tanginess which made it all the more appetising.

Then there is the condiments of Tomato Onion Curry, Sambar and Sambol. Combine all 3 of them with the Thosai and let the flavours and texture come together in your mouth. It's an explosion of delicious tanginess. Savour each bite. Take your time to enjoy your meal at Yarl Heritage Row.

They have definitely made me a fan of their Thosai. They have rice lunch sets starting at just RM12.50++.
