Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings Puchong

Post by Chiefeater VK

The shoplots at Bandar Puteri 1 is not a section that I enjoy going to primarily because of the double parking offenders there. However, it was election weekend and there were very few cars on the road. We decided to discover what eateries we may have missed out there. That led us to discover Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings. This chain was started by a Taiwanese named Joe who decided to combat his homesickness by bringing Taiwanese cuisine to Malaysia. At least that’s what it says on their website. Manjoe already has 3 outlets. Other than the one in Bandar Puteri Puchong, they have outlets at Mid Valley and USJ Taipan.

The Food

Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings

Jen ordered a Tomato Egg Drop Soup (RM8.50+) which was a delightful tomato based broth with eggs in it. The tangy taste of the soup complements well with the savoury congealed egg in it. She also had dumpling chives (RM11.90) which came in the form of 6 good sized pieces. However, the taste of the chives was somewhat bland and had to be aided bv the vinegar or the Mala sauce.

I saw a very appealing picture of the Tomato Dry Noodle with Crispy Chicken on the set menu of Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings. At just RM16.90+, it came with 4 generous pieces of de-boned fried chicken over noodles and a bowl of soup. The chicken was fried to a crisp crunchy golden perfection. The meat was well seasoned and remained tender and succulent inside. The noodles (you have a choice of thick or thin) with the tangy tomato sauce was an appetising accompaniment to the fried chicken.

The meal at Manjoe Taiwanese Dumplings may have been simple but the enjoyment was very pleasurable.
