Craving ramen in Woodlands? Chiefeater Olivia Smith finds Takagi Ramen Woodlands delivers warmth, comfort & great value in every bowl

Pie, Non-Halal
Front Room and Kneady Baker in Taman Desa was where my friend had brought me to for breakfast. As we were browsing the menu, the proprietor came by to share his off to graciously introduced me to a tantalizing off-menu delight — the Bak Kut Teh pie. As a pie enthusiast, the mere mention of this unique fusion dish ignited my curiosity and piqued my appetite. My friend and I agreed that we should order it.
The Bak Kut Teh pie arrived, looking innocuously like any other pie.

But as we cut into it, that's where its glory first came to the fore. First through the aroma of the herbs and spices that you would expect of BKT.

As I took my first bite, the tender meat, infused with the rich essence of Bak Kut Teh spices, melted effortlessly in my mouth. It left behind a lingering warmth that was as comforting as it was satisfying. Each bite revealed a harmonious blend of savoury notes, perfectly complemented by the crust that cradled the delectable filling. The sauce that accompanied the pie further added to robustness of the dish.
While the indulgent Bak Kut Teh pie undoubtedly stole the spotlight, it was the accompanying fries that added an extra layer of culinary delight to our dining experience. Crisp and golden-brown, the fries served as the ideal vessel for mopping up every last drop of the savoury sauce that accompanied the pie.
However, as with any culinary masterpiece, such perfection comes at a price. At RM38 for a single pie, this delectable creation may not be the most budget-friendly option on the menu. Yet, considering the impeccable quality of ingredients and the unparalleled culinary experience it offers, I found it to be a worthy indulgence that transcended mere monetary value.
Front Room & The Kneady Baker is not easy to find as there are no visible sign boards on the building. For me that just adds to its mystique.
