Mediterranean, Pork-Free
After reading Chiefeater Boris Chang’s steak escapade at Bonjour Garden Express Paragon Mall, I thought I would give Bonjour Garden Express Glo Damansara a try. Opting for a medium doneness, I eagerly sliced into the steak, only to find that it leaned closer to medium-well. This was a slight deviation from my preference. While the texture of the steak was satisfactory, offering a tender and succulent bite, I couldn’t help but feel that it lacked the juiciness and depth of flavour that I had come to expect from a perfectly cooked steak. Disappointingly, it seemed that the steak relied heavily on the accompanying sauce to impart flavour, rather than showcasing its own inherent richness and succulence.

Indeed, the reliance on sauce to elevate the flavour profile of the steak left me somewhat underwhelmed, as I had hoped for a dish that would captivate my palate with its natural essence and depth of flavour. At a price point of RM55, perhaps I have should set my expectations lower and tempered my anticipation accordingly.
Despite my reservations about the steak itself, I found solace in the accompanying sides of pumpkin soup and mashed potatoes, which proved to be the highlight of the meal. The pumpkin soup, with its velvety texture and rich, earthy flavour, provided a comforting and indulgent start to the meal, while the creamy mashed potatoes offered a delightful contrast of smoothness and richness that complemented the steak.

My friend’s chicken chop looked good and he said it was satisfying.
