Curry Mee, Street Food, Non-Halal
I was back at Seri Kembangan New Village to discover food and that’s how we ended up at Poh Loong Kopitiam. I had spotted it the last time I was in the area and that’s how I came to it. The name of the shop, 寶龍茶室, doesn’t appear on Google Maps, so you would have to use the address to get here. Located at the corner of Jalan SK 10/6 and SK 10/3, this quaint coffee shop occupies a converted house, adding to its charming ambiance.

Curry Mee stall

During my recent visit, I decided to try their curry mee. I was pleasantly surprised by the flavourful broth and perfectly cooked noodles. The curry broth boasted a rich aroma and depth of flavour, while the noodles had that ideal al-dente texture that made each bite satisfying.

The char siew served with the curry mee was of the traditional style. Less caramelized and fatty, reflecting a more authentic approach to this beloved dish. If you are used to your RM20 type of curry of mee, you might not find this to your liking.

For just RM8.50 per bowl (big bowl), the curry mee at Poh Loong Kopitiam was good value. The popularity of this place was evident as well. I arrived around 10:30 am and managed to secure the last bowl available, highlighting its appeal among locals. Surprisingly, the interior of this Poh Loong Kopitiam was cool and added to the appeal of this dish.
Another bustling stall within the kopitiam was the fried noodles stall located at the entrance. Unfortunately, their Hokkien mee was already sold out by the time we arrived. I can only imagine that it must be popular here. It’s worth noting that this stall opens as early as 6:00 am, catering to early risers seeking a hearty start to the day. Pictured below is the Hokkien Mee stall’s hours.
Poh Loong Kopitiam is a spot worth visiting if you’re in the area, especially for those craving a taste of traditional fare served with zero pretences.
