Sushi Ryujiro Omakase
Japanese, Omakase
Chiefeater Luke Soon tried the omakase at Sushi Ryujiro, the recent addition to Singapore's Japanese fine dining options in Sep 2026

Turkish
It had to be done – albeit a soft tourist trap – the seafood restaurants along the Bosphorus are (still) a must. I thoroughly enjoyed watching anglers above me (we were below the Galata bridge) catching sardines and anchovies.

The Seabream grilled was good at 7/10

The lamb chops were also good at 7/10

We missed the dry Assyrtiko of the Cyclades now replaced by the less dry Narince varietal
These Aegean, Ionian, seafaring towns and ports obviously know their fish. There are better, more local eats on the Asian side of town – but for now, the sights, smells and sounds signal we have arrived in Constantinople – the greatest city on Earth.
