Bedrock Origin is now in my top 3 places for steak. I was initially headed to the Bedrock in Somerset. To me, Bedrock = Somerset 313, having established that (in my mind) as the preeminent meat haven in Sg. Bedrock, and others like Bistecca definitely round up the Top 5. Nestled in the Oasia Resort Sentosa, this ‘new’ Bedrock is certainly making waves.
Once a dining hall that was enclosed and commonplace for a hotel, Bedrock Origin now breathes life into the Oasia property. It takes palette cues from nature with its olive greens, almond browns and mahogany reds—and of course, a splash of white and brass for contrast and class.
This was a Beefeaters Boys club outing/ gathering, so we got down to business. The purpose is to sample every cut of meat across the globe - what’s best on offer. Here, the offerings are more diverse to include similarly hearty mains, so that no one at the table feels left out—no matter their appetite or preference. Think turbot, fish, and other meats like pork chops. Everyone is covered. Unless you’re vegetarian.
We were a party of 4 and opted for the T-bone & ribeyes. All A4 miyazakis and done on the Applewood fire grill.
For starters we chose the marrow tartare, brussel sprouts and cream spinach. Everything on the table was at least a 7.5.
Come armed with enough time to while an afternoon or evening away; not because of its location, but because you will want to take your time to enjoy the serenity of Bedrock Origin and its calming ambience. The meal here nourishes just as much as it provides palatial pleasure, and it’ll be a well-spent meal that you won’t forget too quickly.
Expected damage: SGD60 – SGD85 per pax.
SGD198 for the 250g steaks each.
Oh, I chose the slightly unusual. Chilli oil side/ dip - the others went for the usual bearnaise & peppers, red wine jus etc. no regrets.
Bedrock Origin might be reason enough to traipse over to Sentosa. Maybe. Just maybe.
Editor's Note
Bedrock Origin is pet friendly. Bring your furkids along and unwind at the outdoor verandah over good food, made complete with good company.
