We decided to try Japanese cuisine in Manchester, UK, so we took an Uber to Kitten Restaurant—yes, that’s really the name! I couldn’t help but wonder why anyone would name a Japanese restaurant that.

As soon as we stepped inside, I had a gut feeling it was going to be expensive. And I wasn’t wrong. I get that it’s an izakaya, but the prices were outrageous. The preparation, presentation, and taste were just like anywhere else, so why was a simple order so overpriced? We didn’t order much, knowing it was a rip-off. We ‘pacified’ the kids with a few small plates and left. Safe to say, I won’t be returning anytime soon.
