Saturday afternoon is our day of discovering eateries along the train lines. On this particular Saturday, we found ourselves at Memories Taste Puchong. Just a short walk from the Puchong Jaya LRT station, it was easy to get there.
When I first saw wild boar rendang nasi lemak on the menu, I was hooked. It was a must try. The wild boar rendang was perfectly cooked. They had managed to cook it so well that the texture of the meat was tender. Not chewy at all. The flavours were full bodied and the rendang complemented well with the rice. Sadly, the rice was mushy though it was fragrant. This is not what was expected of a good Nasi Lemak.
The Fried Sui Kow was a puffy overfried affair. The brown colour of the skin suggested that the Sui Kow had been fried too long. But the filling of Sui Kow would be one of the best we have had in Puchong. The one at Shi Yue Tien would still be the best.
I had Dry Curry Chicken Mee with Lembing Mee, instead of Wantan Mee. Lembing Mee is a thicker variant of noodles that first originated from Sungei Lembing, Pahang. Lembing Mee are thick, yellow egg noodles that are similar to Hokkien mee, but slightly thinner. Topped with dark sauces the noodle will give a savoury flavour that some find appealing.
While I did like the noodles, I did not find the Dry Curry Chicken appealing. The chicken lacked seasoning despite it being covered in sauce. That's why I said our combos only the 50% mark. Perhaps the next time we come here, a better combination would be to have the Lembing Mee with the Wild Boar Rendang.

Had a craving for Nasi Lemak with fried chicken and did a search on Chiefeater. Lo & behold found this recommendation by VK and & I am here tonight.
The wild boar meat was excellent, tender, not hard. The Nasi really got lemak taste but yes it’s a bit mushy as VK put it.
Will definitely be back for other dishes. This outlet is in my Favourites folder liao !
Thanks
