Yong Tau Foo
While walking past Jalan Puteri 2/4, I noticed that Mun Ji Chop Noodle Zone serves Yong Tau Foo. Although the shop is well-known for its pork noodles and curry mee, I decided to test their Yong Tau Foo by ordering two pieces first. The lady taking my order did not fuss about me ordering two pieces though she did ask twice if that was all I wanted to order.

The Yong Tau Foo turned out to be quite to my liking. The texture of the filling was firm, and the taste was bold, showing off a good blend of meat and fish. The soup accompanying it was flavorful, though perhaps a bit dehydrating due to a tinge of MSG. Having passed the taste test, I ordered more to take home.
Stuffed Brinjal

I liked the texture of the brinjal as well. Not overcooked so it ate easily.

M – Meal Value
At RM2.80 per piece, the Yong Tau Foo is a bit pricier compared to a kopitiam though it’s not out of place for one operating in Bandar Puteri 2. The firm texture and bold flavors make it a worthwhile addition to a meal, even if it is not the shop’s primary signature.
Score: 7.2/10
V – Venue & Vibes
The restaurant features a functional space with an inner section which is air-conditioned and outer section which is not. It provides a typical, clean dining environment that is functional for quick meals.
Score: 7.0/10
X – X-Factor
The bold, meaty filling used in the Yong Tau Foo is the standout here. Finding high-quality side items in a shop that specializes in pork noodles is a pleasant surprise.
