Chinese, Non-Halal
Restaurant Gold Dragon City is just a few doors down from Luck Kee, which Chiefeaters VK, DC, TSH and I visited about 6 months ago. This place gives old school vibes, like a preppy version of Sek Yuen in Pudu. i.e traditional Chinese restaurants that serve banquet style dishes.
We were just a party of 6 pax. We ordered their Menu B at RM768.
Every dish was good but the standout was the steamed star grouper and classic anchovies fried rice for us. These were easily 7.5/10
Steamed Tiger Grouper With Soya Sauce

Anchovies Fried Rice.
The fried rice reminded me of ‘Malaysian’ style fried rice (not like Din Tai Fung, Yangzhou or other Asian versions) from tai chow’s of yesteryear. Fond memories of supper (bad!) of fried rice from PJ Baru in the late 90s and early 2000s – Gold Dragon City comes close. There’s not enough establishments like Gold Dragon City – I hope these iconic eateries will remain with our next generations.

The other dishes were all 7s except maybe the mushrooms with shark lipped abalones at 6.5/10.
GDC Two Combination

Shark’s Fin Soup With Crab Meat

Steamed Village Chicken (Half)

Panfried Prawn With Soya Sauce

Mushroom with Shark’s Lip Abalone (10 nos)

Seacoconut With Soya Milk
no picture. sorry.
Crispy Pan Cake

We dabao’ed most of the dishes from Restaurant Gold Dragon City for dinner since we could not finish all of it.
