Yong Tau Foo, Non-Halal
Dinner at Restaurant Lu Yeh Yen in Melaka featured some classic Hakka-style dishes, including their Yong Tau Foo with Yellow Bean Sauce and Fish Maw Soup.

The Hakka Yong Tau Foo was nicely done, with a flavourful, springy filling that held together well. The addition of yellow bean gave the dish a savoury depth, complementing the yong tau foo without overpowering it. However, a personal preference would have been white tofu instead of the fried tofu they used, which might have given it a smoother texture.

The Fish Maw Soup had a pleasant, comforting broth, but the serving felt a little stingy on the fish maw itself. A few more pieces would have made it much more satisfying.

A decent meal though a bit more generosity would have made it better.
