Chinese, Seafood, Pork-Free
This was one of my earlier Chinese New Year meals for 2024. I have Chiefeater Mei Lee to thank for organising this makan session. Enroute to Port Klang, my taste buds eagerly anticipated the flavours that awaited at Restoran Perlama Seafood. The restaurant located on a riverbank offered a view of picturesque tranquility and the light rain cooled the evening, providing us a pleasant ambiance.

Our selection from the expansive menu showcased the restaurant's prowess in delivering a seafood-centric experience:
Salted Egg Mantis Prawns:
Our culinary escapade commenced with the indulgence of Salted Egg Mantis Prawns. The prawns, enveloped in a decadent salted egg yolk sauce, were a delightful prelude to the maritime symphony that awaited our palates.

Steamed Clams with Ginger & Wine:
A melody of delicate flavours unfolded with the Steamed Clams, where the essence of ginger and wine added nuanced complexity to each succulent bite.

Signature Honey Baby Sotong:
The Signature Honey Baby Sotong was a revelation, presenting a perfect fusion of crispy textures and a luscious honey glaze, a testament to the chef's mastery.

Sweet & Sour Crab:
The pièce de résistance, the Sweet & Sour Crab, showcased the restaurant's commitment to freshness and flavour. The harmonious balance of sweetness and tanginess elevated the crab to culinary excellence.

Fried Bun:
The Fried Bun, a humble yet essential companion, proved to be the ideal vessel for savouring the rich sauces and gravies that adorned our seafood-laden table.

Seafood Porridge:
A comforting crescendo in our culinary journey, the Seafood Porridge emerged as a personal favourite. The porridge, infused with the sweetness of the seafood, was my favourite dish of the night.

Vegetarian Companions:
Amidst the seafood extravagance, the Sweet Potato Leaf and Mix Vegetables provided a refreshing respite, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to a well-rounded dining experience.
Marmite Chicken:
The Marmite Chicken, with its delectable play of sweet and savoury notes, contributed its unique melody to the symphony of flavours.

As our gastronomic odyssey concluded, the camaraderie among this new foodie friends I have gotten to know over the last years was as palpable as the satiety that enveloped us. The bill, at RM82 per person, underscored not only the abundance of the feast but also the restaurant's commitment to providing a reasonably priced culinary voyage.
