Chiefeater Chee Leong had his try stash of fried pork lard to add to the Char Kuey Teow he ordered at Restaurant Seong Teck Mui
Fine Dining, Pork-Free
I recently gathered a bunch of fellow watch collectors for an exclusive feast at Union Bistrot. Head Chef Neon whipped up a sensational seven-course spread that had us all drooling. The food was so good that even the Swiss watch execs couldn't stop raving about it, saying it outshone what they had in Singapore the day before.
Our dinner was held in their private rooms which were opened up to take the 13 guests I had. (The private room can actually take up to 16 pax)
The Menu
We kicked off with a luxurious truffle dish, followed by a delicate scallop crudo with zesty citrus dressing. Every course was paired with wines that elevated the flavours and made the dining experience even more memorable.
Scallop Crudo
The Hainanese Chicken Rice was a game-changer, with succulent chicken bathed in fragrant ginger butter. And let's not forget the Lemongrass Citrus Granita that cleansed our palates between bites.
The Tandoori Crusted Atlantic Black Cod stole the show with its burst of flavours, paired perfectly with a Pavilion de Leoville Poyferre Saint Julien wine.
Then came the Cantonese Honey Roasted Duck Brioche, oozing with sweet honey and Hoisin sauce, accompanied by a refreshing spring onion salad. Washed down with a McQuigan Handmade Langhorne Creek Shiraz, it was a match made in foodie heaven.
For dessert, we indulged in a Chai Masala Crème Brulee, topped with caramelized anise and cinnamon whipped cream, a delightful fusion of familiar and exotic flavours.
Overall, the dining experience at Union Bistrot was nothing short of spectacular. It was truly an unforgettable evening that surpassed all expectations.
