Jelly Dessert in Lok Lok Dinner
Skewers, Street Food, Non-Halal
- Under RM20 per pax
Chiefeater Alwyn David had a simple dinner of skewers at Jelly Dessert in Lok Lok located in Setapak Village
Banh Mi, Vietnamese, Non-Halal
Saturdays are a day where the we go out as a family for meals. We decided to give the new Vietnamese restaurant, Bun Viet Restaurant, a try. The occupy the lot which used to house an Ipoh street food cafe. While the food at the Ipoh cafe was not bad at all, unfortunately it did not do well.
We ordered different items. Jen ordered a Bun Thit (RM13.40) which is Grilled Pork & Spring Rolls
with Noodles. There is a sauce at the side which you pour into the noodles and mix it in.
David had a bowl of Pho Bo (RM16.90) which is a Beef Noodle Soup. David said the Pho was very satisfactory. The meat was tender and not overcooked. The broth had a good beefy flavour.
I had the Banh Mi (RM11.90). This was a relatively good Banh Mi with good flavours in the filling. The baguette was airy inside and crispy enough outside. I didn’t have trouble biting through the baguette. I personally like it better than the one at Banh Mi Cafe, because the filling is savoury.
What we noticed was there were several Vietnamese dining there. That suggested this is a go to place for the Vietnamese community in Puchong.
The coffee (RM6.90) is so strong that they provide you with water to dilute it. And chances are that you will need it.
Prices are nett at Bun Viet Restaurant.
