Fine Dining, Wine
This a belated post from August 2022. Dinner at DC Restaurant was with 2 friends that I had not had the opportunity to catch up with for over 2 years. The last time we had a meal together was just before the lock down. We chose the 4 course menu (RM438++ per pax) and ordered a bottle of wine to pair with our food for the night. Unfortunately, I did not think to keep a copy of the menu from that season, so I can’t remember the name of all the dishes.
Dinner started with an assortment of bread and pastries.

And then came the Amuse Bouche, which left us foaming (in a good way)

Next came a pasta.

The came our meat dishes. We were presented with options of carving knives which was an interesting experience. Some of us decided that they wanted 2 knives each!

And finally we ended with desserts and the option of Fromage. Because there were 3 of us, we decided to mix it up and it tuned our to be a good choice.

The Fromage was 5 types of A.O.P (this is a verification benchmark that it comes from where it says it does) cheeses, their signature truffle brie sandwich and fresh wild flower honeycomb from Chiang Mai.

DC Restaurant has an 8 course menu that goes for RM1148++ per pax but personally, the 4 course a very worthy entry. Little did we know that DC restaurant was to be awarded a Michelin star in Dec 2022. We started dinner at 8 pm but lost track of time. By the time we ended dinner, it was already 11 pm. Wine, food and good company has a time warping property, for sure.
Inflation and Michelin premium has set in at DC Restaurant. A 4 course menu now starts at RM548++ (January 2023), a 25% premium since August 2022.
