Tucked away in Taman Paramount, Luck Kee Seafood Restaurant is a hidden gem that offers an enjoyable dining experience. On our recent visit, we indulged in a variety of dishes that showcased the restaurant's ability to blend traditional flavours with a touch of modernity.
The burger tofu dish was a pleasant surprise, featuring a rich brown sauce that was both savory and comforting. The tofu itself was soft and absorbed the flavors of the sauce beautifully. Accompanied by mushrooms and vegetables, this dish was a testament to the restaurant's skill in creating vegetarian options that are just as satisfying as their meat counterparts.
The sweet and sour is meticulously battered and fried to a golden crisp, ensuring a delightful crunch with every bite. The exterior is wonderfully crispy, while the meat inside remains tender and juicy. The sauce struck a perfect balance between sweetness and tanginess. Thick enough to coat each piece of pork without being overwhelming. The vibrant flavors of pineapple, bell peppers, and onions complement the sauce beautifully, adding a fresh and slightly acidic counterpoint to the richness of the pork.
Next came the steamed whole fish, garnished with fresh coriander and sliced ginger. The fish was cooked to perfection, retaining its moist and flaky texture. The soy-based sauce complemented the delicate flavor of the fish, while the herbs and ginger added a refreshing note that elevated the dish.
The kangkung (water spinach) was cooked to perfection, retaining its vibrant green color and crispness. The belacan (fermented shrimp paste) sauce was expertly balanced, providing a rich, umami depth that elevated the simple vegetable to a gourmet experience. The hints of garlic and chili added a delightful kick, making each bite a burst of savory goodness. The sauce clung to the kangkung just right, ensuring that every mouthful is flavorful and satisfying. This dish is a fantastic accompaniment to any of their main dishes, particularly the sweet and sour pork, which complement the kangkung belacan beautifully.
The highlight of the meal was the roasted duck. Sliced and arranged on a platter, the duck's crispy skin and tender meat were irresistible. The subtle smokiness and the well-rendered fat added layers of flavor that made each bite a joy. This dish alone is worth a visit to Luck Kee.
Luck Kee in Taman Paramount offers an impressive array of dishes that cater to diverse palates. The quality of the food, combined with the warm and inviting atmosphere, makes it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Each dish is prepared with care, ensuring that patrons leave with a satisfied palate and a desire to return.
If you find yourself in Taman Paramount, make sure to stop by Luck Kee Seafood Restaurant. Your taste buds will thank you.
