Chiefeater VK was back for the YTF at Margaret Yong Tau Fu and found the visit a pleasant reacquaintance

Pie, Pork-Free
Ficus Bistro opened its doors in February 2020, just on the cusp of a global pandemic that would reshape the landscape of the food industry. Thankfully they weathered the storm and emerged victorious on the other side. I ordered the chicken pie which was priced at RM28++. The first bite revealed chunky pieces of tender chicken enveloped in a rich, savoury gravy. The pieces of chicken were tender and well seasoned. The mash was made from potatoes. I enjoyed it.
However, despite the delightful taste, I couldn't shake the feeling that the portion size was somewhat small, leaving me longing for just a bit more to truly satisfy my appetite. I also found the pastry of the pie to be a bit hard. I would have liked it to be more puffy and flaky.
Service at Ficus Bistro was friendly and very attentive.
I found out that they take events at their event space upstairs. They say they can pack 100 pax upstairs. Do reach out to them at the WhatsApp link if you are looking to do an event in TTDI.
