Big Breakfast, Pork-Free
The big breakfast at Kenny Hills Bakers TTDI has now claimed the top spot as my favourite big breakfast in KL. Opting for the smoked salmon version, priced at RM41, I was greeted with a plate that was impressively loaded with a medley of breakfast favourites. The dish featured perfectly scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, a halved grilled tomato, hearty baked beans, a crispy hash brown, a sausage, and smoked salmon. It was an absolute feast for the senses, with each item bringing its own character to the plate, creating a balanced and thoroughly satisfying meal.
While part of the hash brown was harder than expected, it still offered a nice flavour that paired well with the other elements on the plate. The bread was dense, offering a satisfying chew and acting as a sturdy foundation for the butter.
The smoked salmon added a wonderful saltiness and richness, its smooth texture contrasting beautifully with the rest of the items.
The star of the plate, however, had to be the scrambled eggs. These were done to perfection—light, fluffy, and soft, with a creamy texture that practically melted in the mouth. Good scrambled eggs should always have a silky, velvety feel, holding together in delicate curds, not too runny but certainly not overcooked. These eggs ticked all the right boxes.
Adding to the experience was the coffee, a robust and well-balanced blend that complemented the meal perfectly. Even with the café buzzing with activity, the service was impeccable. Our server, Wyman, was attentive and efficient, ensuring we had everything we needed. His friendly manner added to the overall pleasantness of the meal. Despite the crowd and the 2 hour time limit for diners, we never felt rushed or overlooked, making for a relaxing and enjoyable breakfast outing.
At RM41, it’s not the cheapest big breakfast around, but given the quality of ingredients, generous portions, and the attentive service, I’d say it’s well worth it. Kenny Hills Bakers TTDI has certainly set a high bar for what a big breakfast should be. I’ll definitely be returning to relive the experience!
