Chiefeater Aun Chuan made a visit to the legendary apom manis sold at Ravi’s Claypot Apom in Pulau Tikus

Airport dining isn’t usually known for surprises—especially not the pleasant kind—but Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria at KLIA Terminal 1 proved otherwise.

We ordered the Margherita Pizza (RM39) and were honestly quite impressed. The base was chewy, more than most Neapolitan pizzas I have had in KL, and the dough itself had flavour—seasoned just right with a subtle saltiness that brought the whole pie together.

The tomato sauce was fresh and bright, balanced by blobs of gooey melted cheese and a few torn basil leaves that added the right herbaceous lift. A touch of grated parmesan and cracked pepper over the top sealed the deal.

What really stood out, aside from the flavour, was the price—RM39 for a pizza this size and quality, at an airport, is a rare win. No inflated “airport premium” here, which makes it an even better deal considering this could easily pass for something served in the heart of KL.
We also ordered a Spanish Latte (RM21), which came in a cup big enough for two to share. It was creamy, mellow, and not overly sweet—just the way we like it. A nice complement to the savouriness of the pizza.
