Duck Rice, Street Food, Non-Halal
Yew Kee Duck Rice Upper Thomson uses the traditional Teochew method of braised duck cooking and more than 10 different types of herbs, spices and ingredients for its braised sauce. The brand's speciality chilli is a must try that complements every dish on the menu.
Yew Kee Duck Rice is a braised duck duck and kway chap franchise, across Singapore. Back to my theory, anything Teochew inspired on this island can’t go far wrong - including fish soup, peppery bkt, cold crabs and of course braised duck.
It’s certainly not cheap at $6 per plate with either rice , porridge, kwayxhap or noodles (my preference).
The braised intestines are good as well. Yew Kee Duck Rice Upper Thomson is a consistent 6/10 day in, day out and is your goto if you’ve had too much chicken rice
Here are some other notable duck rice shops to try: Other worthy Duck Rice and Noodle hawker stalls to check out include Yu Kee Duck Rice (Newton Food Centre and many branches), Yu Kee House of Braised Duck (Joo Chiat Place and other outlets), Cheok Kee Duck Rice (Geylang Bahru Market), Delicious Duck Noodles (Tanglin Halt), Hup Seng Duck Rice (Sin Ming), Lee Xin Braised Duck (North Bridge Road Food Centre), Ban Chuan (Ang Mo Kio Ave 6), Hollywood Braised Duck Rice (Sims Vista Food Centre), Cheok Kee Duck Rice (East Coast), and New Market Teochew Duck Rice (Alexandra Village Food Centre).
Yew Kee Duck Rice Upper Thomson is one of over 30 Yew Kee outlets across the island - unless you’re after 7 and above as for duck rice (the list above), it’s very predictable.
