The idli with sambhar on Batik Air was honestly quite enjoyable. The idli had that soft, slightly grainy texture you want, and the sambhar carried a warm tang with enough spice to keep each spoonful interesting. For an airline meal, it felt hearty and comforting, the kind of thing that actually wakes you up a bit mid-flight.

The potato puff, though, didn’t quite land. The filling tasted alright but the pastry was too dry, almost chalky, and it didn’t have that flaky lightness you’d hope for.

Still, the main set of idli and sambhar made the meal worthwhile.
