Roast Duck, Non-Halal
The Loy Kee Ipoh Roast Pork food truck has been operating outside Soon Sing kopitiam for years. But up until recently, I have not tried their roast duck. That’s because we have a myriad of options available within Puchong.
On one of the evenings where I walked out to buy dinner, I saw that they had a whole duck hanging on the display, Fortunately, they accepted e-wallet payment so I bought half a duck (RM33). I wasn’t expecting too much. After all, there aren’t long queues in front of their truck. I was just craving for duck meat so I was willing to settle.
But what a surprise this turned out to be. The duck turned out to be quite enjoyable. The skin still retained some crispiness. The meat was firm and retained the customary gamey flavour I expect of a duck. Read the article at the last place I had duck and it turned out to be a chuck (A duck that tastes a bit like chicken).
And while I didn’t buy roast pork, the butcher dropped two pieces in for me to sample. It too turned out to be good. I had previously bought their roast pork before but did not think it was good. The difference this time was that I bought it early at 6 pm. Definitely getting the roast duck at Loy Kee Ipoh Roast Pork again.
